If you’ve been wanting to create a more established bedtime routine, you’ve come to the right place. We all know that little ones thrive with routine! When they know what to expect each night, they’ll automatically begin winding down as they sense bedtime is near. This is our super simple, tried and true bedtime checklist to get you started! Give it a try, keep the things that work, and replace the ones that don’t so you and your kiddos have a bedtime routine that’s just right for you.

  1. Scrub a Dub - We always start with a bath or shower. Make sure your little one is clean and fresh! Even if you don’t shampoo every day, just a few minutes in a warm bath or shower can help signal the shift into wind-down time.

  2. Grab your Plain Janes - Kids love choices. We always keep seasonally-appropriate options in the drawer so they can choose their own pajamas for the night! We love our classic PJ Set for most of the year, or Short Sleeve Sets in the summertime.

  3. Beauty Sleep - We can’t end the day without a little beauty reset! Incorporating brushing, flossing, and hair care into your nighttime routine will help them remember good hygiene habits.

  4. Story Time - We know how hard it can be to muster the energy for a book after a long day of parenting! This is a great activity to bring the energy level down, though, and it helps encourage a love of reading for even the littlest ones.

  5. Snuggle Up! - Get your kids comfy and cozy in their bed, making sure to tuck them in with their favorite stuffies or blankets for extra comfort at nighttime. Of course, we also think a pair of ultra soft pajamas makes a big difference, too!

  6. Sleep Tight - Time to say good night! Remind your little ones that you love them and you can’t wait for another day of fun tomorrow.
