WHAT WE’RE WEARING, EATING + MAKING FOR BACK TO SCHOOL

August 20, 2019

It’s that time again, mamas. Time to start prepping and planning for the back to school hustle and, generally speaking, a more structured time of year. However, that doesn’t mean we have to be all business and no play! Here’s 3 ways we’re keeping things simple and fun while adjusting to school being back in session.

Wearing: Things never go quite as smoothly as we expect on the first morning of school so having a jammie gown that doubles as a completely acceptable and equally adorable daytime dress is a lifesaver. I love to pair the girls’ with velcro sneakers and a scrunchie and mine with strappy sandals and sunnies to hide the tears or puffy eyes — but most likely both.

We love the idea of investing in a backpack that can last your little one several years. No need to buy a new one each year when you've got one that stays in tip-top shape for years to come. We are blown away from the arrow pack from Walker Family Goods. Nothing beats function + versatility!

Eating: Making everyone’s after school snacking dreams come true with this slightly more healthy version of graham crackers and frosting. Mix equal parts nutella or your go-to nut butter with softened (i.e. room temp) cream cheese. Spread over graham crackers and top with bananas or other fruit.

Making: Some homemade pencil toppers to share with classmates and friends! We have the template all made for you (click to download HERE) with fun saying so all you have to do is print on colored (or white and have the kids color in) card stock, cut along dashed line and tape to the top of a pencil.

Hopefully these ideas help in some way! Would love to know what you’re doing to make back to school special but also low-stress. Oh, and as always we love to see how you style your plain jane’s so keep tagging us on Instagram!
