Valentine’s Day is on the way! We love seeing gift guides, candy, and cute baskets, but we also know there are SO many ways to make the ones you love feel extra special…without spending a dime! Here are some of our favorite ways to help your little one feel the love around Valentine’s Day:

Get out the Post-Its! Write the things you love about your little on paper hearts and stick them on their mirror, wall, or bedroom door. We’re betting they’ll keep them up long after Valentine’s Day for a constant reminder of how amazing they are!

Make a trip to the library! Look for books about love, friendship, and connection as a sweet reminder about the things that matter most. Here are a few of our favorites:

I'd Know You Anywhere, My Love by Nancy Tillman

I'll Love You Till the Cows Come Home by Kathryn Cristaldi

❤ Love Is by Diane Adams

❤ Crocodiles Need Kisses Too by Rebecca Colby

❤ Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney

❤ You Belong Here by M.H. Clark

Plan a date! Ask your kid to be your Valentine and take them on a one-on-one date. It could be anything…even a trip to the grocery store to pick a pint of ice cream in their favorite flavor will feel special! The thing that they'll remember most is the time together.

Get crafty! Do some Valentine's Day arts and crafts together, then deliver them to family and friends to spread the love. Here’s one we’re obsessed with this one: handprint heart craft

Twinning! Put your matching PJs on for a fun day at home. There's something about matching that just speaks to kids! It makes them feel like they belong and are a part of something bigger. Matching with mom or dad is sure to make them feel oh so special!
